In top hammer drilling the energy generated at the drill is in the form of repeated blows like those of a hammer used in manual chiseling. These impacts create shock waves in the drill string. The shock waves that travel to the bit are passed on to the rock through the cutting edges or carbide buttons on the bit. As a result, cracks are formed in the rock mass and result in formation of rock chips. Cuttings are removed from the hole by air or drilling fluid circulated from bottom to top to flush the hole.
Bitroc offers a complete Top Hammer product range which covers tunneling, construction, quarrying and mine drilling & blast application from soft to hardest rock conditions. We work with our customers to supply them the drilling tool which is advantageous to their drilling environment. We supply quality top hammer shanks, couplings, rods and drill bits for drifting, tunneling, Bench and production drilling to transmit intensive impact energy into the rock with the least possible loss of energy and good rock breakage, high penetration rates and high productivity. We stand behind our products and provide ongoing after sales service and support.

Bitroc offers top hammer drilling bits with excellent wear life. You will drill in all applications from soft rock formations to extremely hard conditions, straighter holes with higher penetration rates, and longer bit life with our products. These bits are heat-treated and produced from high-grade alloy steel and best carbide quality. We provide threaded and tapered button bits, from 38-152 mm in diameter in all face configurations and thread types (We supply bits with all the most efficient button shapes (round, ballistic, semi-ballistic and spike tungsten carbide inserts) and the required skirt designs (regular or retrac).
Round profiles have longer life and less prone to breaking.
Semi-ballistic profiles recommended for medium-hard rock with moderate abrasivity and give higher penetration rate than spherical profiles.
Ballistic profiles have higher penetration rate than semi ballistic profiles and normally are used in soft drilling formations.
Spike profiles recommended for soft to medium-hard rock with highest penetration rate. They have shorter life and are more prone to breaking
Regular Skirts are typically smaller than the head diameter to avoid contacting cuttings and the rock wall, therefore optimizing hole flushing. If hole deflection can’t be kept within acceptable limits by using a regular skirt drill bit, you should select a retrac skirt bit. The splines will also improve the hole flushing characteristics of the bit due to the chip ways between the splines.
Bitroc offers drill rods in either hexagonal or round configurations from high strength alloy steels. You will drill straighter holes with less deviation and longer service life in drifting, tunneling and long hole applications with our products. The drill rods can be supplied in all common thread designs (T38/T45/T51,R25/R28/R32/R35/R38), in male/male and male/female connections, and in any length.
Function of shank adapter is to transmit impact energy from the rock-drill piston, as well as rotation torque, into the drill string without energy losses, and then must withstand the most extreme stress. It transmits blows from the piston continually. Bitroc offers premium quality sleeve couplings and shank adapters for all common thread types and combinations. We supply shank adapters (striking bars) with great endurance and dependability for all drilling machine (including Atlas Copco, Tamrock, Furukawa, Montabert, Ingersoll-Rand, Gardner Denver etc.)
